从前，一个国王对食物感到厌倦，无论是哪种珍奇美味，他都没有胃口。有一天，他在早朝时说：“我的大臣们，我现在很饿，不知道应该吃什么好东西，让我尝尝。”左宰相和右宰相不和，这次听到国王的话，左宰相认为这是一个机会。他上前说：“陛下，我听说右宰相家有一个公鸡能下蛋，它的味道非常独特，非常美味。”国王一听就高兴了，说：“如果真的有这种美食，就快点给我拿来！”右宰相听后马上反驳：“我家里根本就没有这样的公鸡，如果有的话，我早就给您享用了。”左宰相坚持说：“你就是想独占享受，不愿意分享给皇帝。”
国王听到这番话后很生气，说：“右丞相，你必须在三天内把那个能下的蛋送到我面前，如果不到那儿，那么你的家族将被诛灭！”右丞相回家之后，对他的妹妹说道，“我现在有点不舒服，但你不知道的是……”然后他告诉她所有的事情。妹妹也变得忧心忡忡。这时候，小外甥走来说，“舅舅，您别担心，我有办法解决这个问题。”小外甥提出了自己的计划：让他通过关系去朝廷，然后到期限之日，在朝堂上出现。
Right Minister was skeptical, but he had no other choice. He agreed to let the boy try. Three days later, the boy appeared in court and told the king that Right Minister was ill and could not bring the egg. The king was furious, saying that men cannot give birth to children and therefore cannot lay eggs either. He pardoned Right Minister and allowed him to continue serving as right minister.
